Konstantinos Terzakis

30, Greece

Appointed Assistant Conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (2022/23), he was awarded the Orchestra’s award of the 16th Conducting Competition of Dimitris Mitropoulos (2024), and he has been excelling in symphonic, contemporary and operatic repertoire. In 2022 he was chosen as Conducting Fellow of Lucerne Festival where he received Masterclass from Thomas Adès and Jonathan Stockhammer. He was a finalist of the Siemens Halle Conducting Competition (2023) and he was the first place at the audition for Guest Conducting of the Athens State Orchestra.

During 2024/25 he was particularly active in his home country conducting a number of production in the operatic and ballet area, such as Coppelia by Delibes and Carmen by Shchedrin with the Greek National Opera Ballet, Rossini’s La Cenerentola and Beethoven’s Fidelio at Olympia Theater and after his operatic debut with GNO and Puccini’s La Boheme, he’s returning this season to conduct Bizet’s Carmen, and open its season with S. Samaras’ Flora Mirabilis. He debuted with the Athens State Symphony Orchestra and Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, and he’ll be returning to both during this season, and he will return to record TETTTIX’s first disc.

Highlights of the season will be debuting at Herodion Theater conducting a Ballet Gala, and he will also conduct the Opera Awards 2025 ceremony.
